Entrepreneurial Management


Entrepreneurial Management is an intensive program designed for business students with focus on process and methods involved in starting and growing enterprises including accessing capital and positioning an enterprise for sustainability.


The program includes classes that cover four main aspects of entrepreneurship

  • Opportunity Recognition & Analysis
  • Business Modeling
  • Business Planning & Presentation
  • Early Stage Financing

Program Highlights:

  • Faculty members teaching in the program are from the top four entrepreneurship programs in the nation. CSUSB entrepreneurship program was ranked #4 in the U.S by the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE).
  • Guest speakers are successful leaders in the industry.
  • Business plan project is included in the program, where participants develop a comprehensive business plans that incorporate idea generation, business model development, marketing strategy, financial forecasting, plan execution, and business presentation

This program also includes

  • Access to university campus facility, including library, state-of-the-art gymnasium
  • Living in homestay where participants live with American host families to increase their cultural exposure

  • Southern California campus location, with easy access to world famous attraction such as Beverly Hills, Disneyland, Las Vegas, San Diego, Sea World, Southern California beaches, mountains, lakes, desert and etc.

Participants

  1. Integration:

    To understand the integration of people and processes in entrepreneurship.

  2. Skills and Tools:

    To gain the critical skills and tools needed to successfully assess, shape and take advantage of new venture opportunities.

    To understand the difference between venture capital, private equity, early stage and traditional financing sources.

  3. Key Factors Of Success:

    To have a better understanding of the key factors of success for new venture creation, launch, and funding and to assess your personal entrepreneurial capacity.

  4. Experience:

    To experience the entrepreneurial planning process first hand and to gain an understanding of the launch process from idea to succession.

Dates & Fees

  • This is a 3 week program for cohorts of 20 or more participants. Dates are negotiated with cohort representatives.
Program fees: $3,900 per participant
Housing & meals: $690 per participant (to be paid directly to homestay families)
TOTAL: $4,590 per participant

Program fees include mandatory health insurance, campus fees, airport transfer at arrival and departure, application fee, homestay placement fee, and cultural/recreational excursions.

Important Fee Information: The College of Extended Learning makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased to meet the operating costs of delivering these courses and programs. Living on campus is one of the easiest ways to become involved at CSUSB.
The Villages offers on-campus housing for students in three residential environments: Serrano Village, Arrowhead Village and University Village. Living on campus is a significant part of the CSUSB experience for approximately 1,500 students.

Off-Campus

Homestay for 120 hours tesol certificate

  • Improve English, learn American culture

  • Families provide three meals per day, transportation to and from campus, a bedroom and utilities (except phone)

International students can participate in the Homestay Program where they live with American families to improve their English and learn American culture firsthand. Host families are proud to explain American ways of life, Students can learn new things, taste new foods and see new places.

The IEP Homestay Program gives IEP students and members of the community an opportunity to learn more about other people and their cultures. By participating in the Homestay Program, you will be able to share your tradition and lifestyles while broadening your own cultural experiences.

Homestay Program

The IEP Homestay Program gives IEP students and members of the community an opportunity to learn more about other people and their cultures. By participating in the Homestay program, you will be able to share your traditions and lifestyle while broadening your own cultural experiences.

Homestay Includes

Host families are expected to provide students with:

  • A safe environment
  • A private room
  • Meals
  • Transportation to and from the California State University, San Bernardino campus.

Host families are encouraged to include students in family activities in the evenings and on weekends. These activities enrich the students' stay and give them a true picture of American culture.

Visa Requirements

California State University, San Bernardino is authorized to issue I-20 forms (Certificates of Student Eligibility) for full-time intensive English study. Students may then enter the U.S. on an F-1 student visa obtained from the American Embassy or consulate.

F-1 visas are issued on the basis of full-time study. This means that you are expected to attend your scheduled classes every day that you are enrolled in ELP. After three quarters of full-time study, you are eligible for one quarter off.

If you are planning to study in the U.S., you must apply for an F-1 visa.

Students applying for ELP's Intensive English Program should complete the financial statement located on the application form. Students accepted for study will receive the I-20 form so that they may obtain an F-1 student visa at the nearest U.S. consulate.

Health Insurance

International students must have health insurance coverage at all times while enrolled at CSUSB.

Mandatory Student Health Insurance:

It is the International Extensions Program policy that all students purchase health insurance through the CSUSB International Extension Programs as part of their registration fees. Students are automatically billed for the Health Insurance plan at the beginning of each Quarter.
